Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 3/4 c (or about 2 medium) Roma tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 12 Serrano or jalapeño chilis, seeded, deveined, and minced
  • 3 heaping tbsp white onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsp fresh cilantro, minced
  • 11 1/2 tbsp lime juice
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Using a food processor, blender, or molcajete, purée the chilis, onion, cilantro, and salt. Place purée in a large bowl. Or, if you’re short on time, simply mix the ingredients together in a bowl.
  2. Using a fork or tejolote, smash the avocados on top of the puree, stirring occasionally to incorporate.
  3. Add tomatoes and lime juice, stirring gently with a spoon until completely mixed. Taste and adjust salt and lime juice if desired. Serve immediately.
