Once again, I find myself posting and interacting a lot less than I’d like. I’ve become really uncomfortable with the amount of time James has been spending in front of a screen in the absence of friends, school, and/or an outside caregiver.

So I’m leading by example and setting down my phone for a while. I’ll still be popping in to support y’all, but I need to focus on my son until school starts.

Such weird times we live in...but I’m incredibly grateful for this time with my family and appreciate that I’m able to pivot this way.

Has anyone else been cooking their feelings lately? ⁠⠀

I tend to process both emotions and information best when I'm working in the kitchen. Maybe it's something about all the sensory input of smells, tastes, and textures, but I often walk out of the kitchen with an "aha moment"...or at the very least a really good meal.⁠⠀

Celebrating James' first lost tooth with @myforkinglife 's banana fritters! ⁠⠀

I can't believe what a DUDE this kid is becoming! After he brushed his teeth, he stared in the mirror with his bangs pulled up staring at the stitches in his forehead while sticking his tongue where his tooth used to be. When he caught me looking he said, "Mom, this looks SO awesome together!" Where did my baby go?!⁠ 😭

A regular old breakfast just wouldn't do on a morning like this so I decided to try my hand at banana fritters, which I've never made before. Tanya's recipe came out perfect even thought I subbed in GF flour and used date sugar instead of brown. ⁠⠀
